Where to get the best discounts from shops in New York

Who are we….we are 2 girls who are MAD about shopping and passionate about travelling. We have travelled many major fashion capitals but New York has it all!

We've made it easier for you to experience an outstanding shopping trip in New York City.

New York has some of the greatest shopping in the world, to name but a few ……

BLOOMINGDALES or Bloomies for short is a great 9 floor department store..


Bloomie's has got it all - all the great designer brands, from Marc Jacobs to DKNY a Louis Vuitton boutique, cosmetics, perfume, shoes and bags as well as thousands of different accessories. There is an enormous range of jeans, from Seven for all mankind, to Paper Denim. Not forgetting the infamous little brown bags.
Bloomingdales is the place where Rachel from the TV-series 'Friends' worked. There are different locations of the store, but the biggest one is situated on Lexington Ave.

If you have a none US passport or other photo ID take it to he visitor service counter (on the Balcony right at the end) and they will give you an 11% discount off stuff in the shop.

Barneys is situated on Madison Avenue. The store has for a long time long been a benchmark for sophisticated designer outlet.

Macy's is a HUGE department store. It is so big that it is a must see tourist attraction when you are in New York.

This store stocks everything. With a huge range of designer labels and accessories. Perhaps you will need to buy a new suitcase while you are here to ship it all home in.... Make sure you give your selves enough time to take full advantage of shopping at Macy's.

Macy's gives a discount reported to be 10% for holders of non-US passports. You must go upstairs to the 6th floor and get the discount certificate. Go into the Visitor information center at the Macy's at Herald Square. It's a half floor above the first floor - ask any sales staff and they'll help you find it. Macy's will give you, with no strings attached, a discount voucher that will allow you 15% of all purchases in their store for that day (there are some exceptions but,... surprisingly few)!

Nothing is quite like shopping on Fifth Avenue, and upper Madison Ave.

Wonderful 5th Avenue, also referred to as the "Miracle Mile" is a shopping mecca in NYC. All the best (and most expensive ) stores are located along this Street. If you don't have a million bucks to spare, stroll along for some great window shopping. It can get pretty hectic, especially around 5th Ave/ 57 St, but it's great to mingle among the crowd and discover this part of NY.

Manhattan is a wonderful place to shop anytime of the year. There are so many varieties of stores and merchandise...

On 57th Street there is a plethora of boutiques.

New York's Best Kept Secret," Century 21 (22 Cortlandt St. bet. Church St. & Broadway) is the department store where you can find some of the best bargains in the city with 15 departments of top quality and designer merchandise at 40% to 70% off retail prices!


You’ll not just find the finest selection of European and American Designer Men's, Ladies', and Children's Clothing but Century 21 also carries accessories, cosmetics, handbags, lingerie and shoes plus home ware, linens, luggage, gifts and electronics.


Scout out the smaller shops, don't just confine yourself to the shopping meccas of SoHo and Fifth Avenue, though each does have its own New York charm ...

Head to the Lower East Side to check out intimate boutiques that feature local designers as well as trendy new and vintage pieces that you can't find anywhere else.




For bargains, on the Lower East Side NYC between Orchard and Delancey streets. You'll also find special shops sprinkled throughout the downtown neighborhoods of the West Village, the East Village and Nolita, as well as across the East River in artsy Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
